Helicopter Blade Repair-Maintenance Systems benches facilitate the bonding of the titanium plate in the DE-ICE system of Sikorsky Helicopter's rotor blades with controlled temperature and pressure. These benches are equipped with the hardware that ensures the positioning of the blade during the bonding process, allow for localized temperature control, and ensure the curing process is completed evenly across the blade with consistent pressure after bonding.

Overview

Achieve adhesive bonding and curing of the sheath assembly on helicopter blades all within a single workstation
Once the process is completed, weight measurements are taken to ensure accurate weight & balance criteria
Suitable for blades up to 9 meters, accommodating sheath assembly replacements including de-icing systems with ease
The 2-axis, servo-controlled workstation seamlessly transfers the helicopter blade between the adhesive and curing stations;
The first station employs a meticulous sheath assembly removal using a vacuum technique, ensuring precision and safety of the product
The second station utilizes a heating blanket to ensure effective curing
Equipped with a PID-controlled heating infrastructure, it guarantees even temperature distribution throughout the blade
An innovative rubber cover wraps around the blade; when air pressure is applied, the cover adapts to the blade's external geometry, ensuring consistent pressure regardless of the blade's shape
The integrated HMI panel offers real-time monitoring, control, and verification of the entire process
